Castle Hill High School

Castle Hill Blog 05/09/25

What a fantastic start we’ve had to the new school year! The first week has been filled with energy, enthusiasm, and so much to celebrate.

After visiting every class, I was delighted to see pupils diving into their learning with eagerness and determination. Their positive attitude was inspiring, not only in the classroom but also during my assembly on new beginnings. Together, we reflected on the importance of making sure our dreams are bigger than our fears, and remembering that it’s always okay to ask for help along the way.

It’s clear that our school community is ready to embrace the opportunities and challenges ahead with optimism, courage, and support for one another. I’m excited to see all that we will achieve this year.

A Taste of Italy

10/11B have enjoyed their very first home cooking session this week! Pupils practiced key motor skills such as grating cheese and rolling pastry, while also developing their weighing and measuring skills. All their hard work came together in the form of a delicious homemade pizza calzone – a tasty reward for their learning!

Brain Training

Our Year 11 ASDAN group have made an excellent start on their journey towards the Gold Award, following their success in achieving the Silver Award in the summer term.

As part of their first activities, pupils have been focusing on emotional wellbeing. This week, they explored the positive impact of music by spending time listening and reflecting together. The sessions created a calm and thoughtful space, helping pupils to consider how music can support their mood and wellbeing.

Next week, the group will continue this focus with activities centred around reading and exercise — more opportunities to build healthy habits while working towards their award.

People Pop Art!

This week, 10AK pupils explored how to position facial features accurately before letting their imaginations run wild by designing bold, crazy hairstyles for their characters.

The results were full of colour, creativity, and personality!
