Covid testing
The Department for Education have asked that secondary schools offer a one-off lateral flow Covid test to all students on their return from the Christmas break. We sent out a text message earlier in the week asking if you'd like your child to take part in this. Please respond to this, if you haven't done so already. We will, of course, only test your child if we have your consent.

Fire!!!
As part of their work on the community and jobs, 10B visited Offerton Fire Station this week. They had an excellent time finding what the team get up to and used some of the equipment. Mrs Brown tells me that all of the students are honorary fire crew now! Many thanks to Blue Watch for hosting the visit.
It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!
We've had trips out to the pantomime in Stockport this week and Christmas decorations have gone up around school. Last year we had a 'Christmas Tree Challenge' between the different from groups, which was won in controversial circumstances by Miss Breslin and 11D! This year we're having 'The World Cup of Christmas Doors', with classes decorating their form room doors and a daily knock-out vote on Twitter. A few examples are shown below:
