Progress reports

Your child should have brought their mid-year Progress Report home today. The letter accompanying it explains that we have moved to a new assessment and recoding system this year. As this is our first set of reports generated on the new system, there is only one set of data. In future, reports will be sent at the end of each term and you'll be able to see what progress your child has made over that term.

Welly walk

We're having a sponsored Welly Walk on the afternoon of Friday 24th March. The walk will be about two miles long, with an alternative route for pupils who might struggle with muddy, woodland paths. Mrs Nellis is sending out details today and the money raised will boost our School Fund, which is used to subsidise school trips and rewards. There will also be prizes for the class and the individual pupil who raise the most money. Pupils should wear normal school uniform, but bring a warm, waterproof coat and wellies or other suitable footwear.

Our only worry is that Mrs Nellis has a habit of jinxing these events with weird weather!

Wellbeing support

We've been asked to share details of SHINE, an early help and wellbeing service for young people in Stockport aged 11-17 years. They deliver a series of wellbeing workshops, providing young people with the opportunity to meet other young people, gain new skills and explore their own emotional wellbeing. The service also provides information, advice and guidance relating to emotional wellbeing and signposts support. World Down Syndrome Day

Tuesday 21st March is World Down Syndrome Day and we're encouraging everyone to join in by wearing socks that will get you noticed. They might be mismatched socks or the craziest and most colourful socks, whatever takes your fancy.

The idea is to start a conversation, so when people ask you about your socks you can tell them, "I'm wearing them to raise awareness of Down syndrome"

Why not join in and get family, friends and colleagues on board too? To get yourself more informed so you can tell them about Down syndrome click here:
