Covid update

We've had a number of positive cases of Covid reported amongst students and staff this week.  This is to be expected in view of the fact that close contacts of positive cases are no longer asked to self-isolate and many schools are experiencing the same scenario. Public Health Stockport are monitoring things and have advised us to be extra cautious for the time being, this includes:

  • Asking close contacts of confirmed cases to take a PCR test. As long as they have no symptoms close contacts can still attend school.
  • Asking parents and carers to be extra cautious and keep their child off school and get a PCR if they are showing any symptoms. PCR tests are coming back within 24 hours at the moment. If you're unsure whether you should send your child into school please phone us.
  • Encouraging students to be vigilant with hand washing, respiratory hygiene etc.

PCR tests can be booked via the following link: https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test

As yet we have no information on the Government's plans to offer the Covid vaccine to all 12-15 years olds.

Parent Governor nominations

We sent out letters yesterday asking for nominations for parent governors. If you'd like to nominate somebody, or nominate yourself, please return the nomination sheet by midday on Friday 24th September.

Mr T's target

We've decided to set a weekly target for all pupils, which will focus on things like good manners, politeness and conversation skills. When staff catch students achieving the target they will be rewarded with credits. This week's target is to hold doors open for people. Feel free to join in at home to encourage your child. We'll post the new target here each week.

Have a great weekend!
