Castle Hill High School

Castle Hill Blog 19/09/2025

It's been a really busy week here at Castle Hill with much to celebrate including this incredible piece of creative writing landing on my desk from a superstar pupil in Mrs Marsh's Year 11 English class. Make yourself a cup of tea and allow yourself a few moments of glorious escapism...

Can We Fix It? Yes We Can!

In their construction class this week, Ethan and Will practised using a cordless battery drill, carefully creating smooth, precise holes and securely driving metal screws into place. To finish the task, Ethan used the Henry the Hoover to clean away all the sawdust. Fantastic effort boys, well done!

Time for Tea!

As part of their ASDAN course, Luca and Luke served over 30 hot drinks in their mock coffee morning. As you can see the quality of service provided was excellent!

Origami Magic!

Liam confidently led an origami session for his peers, demonstrating excellent leadership and communication skills. He clearly explained each step, patiently guiding and encouraging his friends throughout the activity. A fantastic effort — well done!

Careers Speakers Needed!

We are looking for volunteers to come into school and take part in a short question-and-answer session about their job. From bus drivers to police officers, builders to business owners, barristers to carers — we would love to hear from you!

Our pupils need the chance to learn about the wide variety of careers available, so they can start thinking about their own future.

Even if you are now retired, we would still greatly value hearing about your former role and the experiences you can share.

If you are interested or would like to find out more, please speak to or email Shaun Rule or Rhian Wheeler from our Careers Team.

And Finally...

George in 7B recently competed in his first official licensed event in the 100-metre backstroke, where he spectacularly surpassed the para junior qualifying time for the 10–13 age group by over 20 seconds! This incredible achievement has secured him a place at next year’s National Para Junior Championships in Coventry, where he is currently ranked among the top ten swimmers in the country for his age. He is now set to compete at the Regional North West and North East Para Swim Championships in just two weeks’ time. What a star!

Have a great weekend!
